iCOD

iCOD is a WEB-based system, designed specifically to assist Ontario School Districts to collect and manage annual Criminal Offence Declarations for their staff.

This system is designed specifically to address the issue of collecting a large number of offence declarations (one per year for virtually all employees of a School Board) over a short period of time. Since the largest portion of the data is expected to be from employees who declare that they have no offence declarations, the focus of the system design is to ensure that these declarations (i.e. no offences) can be entered quickly and efficiently. It also provides a powerful reporting capability to ensure that HR staff can effectively monitor the collections process.

The system is bilingual, capable of supporting English or French.

System Architecture and Requirements

iCOD is designed to be a very thin application. No application software is run on the client. To run iCOD, the client machine requires a browser only. Both the WEB/Application Server and the Database Server require minimal system resources to run.

iCOD was also designed to be run in a School Board environment. Since Board employees may choose to access iCOD from a Board or School computer, iCOD does not allow back paging or store any session history. This prevents other persons from viewing sensitive iCOD data, after the user session has been terminated.

iCOD can be configured to run with Microsoft SQL-Server (Version 2000 higher).
