Payroll Notice Regarding 2006 T4 XML Parsing

The 2006 T4 XML Schema from CRA includes a new command which is intended to enforce non-duplicate Other codes on the T4.  This command was commented out (deactivated) in the 2005 XML Schema supplied by CRA.

This command may cause an error in some XML parsing software.  An error such as: Not enough values specified for identity constraint for element 'OTH_INFO'. An error message per T4 entry will be generated. This does not affect the T4A.

When we contacted CRA regarding this issue we were informed by CRA that updates to our 2007 XML validating parser would resolve this issue. It seems that this depends on which validating parser you use.

The OPS software does include the enforcement of unique Other codes, so you cannot generate duplicate Other codes within the OPS system.

TSC XML Parsing service will be doing a double XML Parsing using multiple XML parsers to ensure no errors exist in the T4 files we are asked to validate.
