June 28, 2007
Alberta and British Columbia will make 10-digit telephone dialing mandatory in June 2008. This will affect TSC customers who use our Purchase Order faxing or Automated Dispatch Telephone modules. TSC customers in BC’s Lower Mainland have been using our 10-digit dialing functionality since 2001.
10-digit dialing will begin on June 23, 2008 and become mandatory by September 12, 2008. During this interim period callers who do not dial the 10 digits will hear a recorded message prompting them to dial the area code which will cause our automated dialing technology to fail. This means that all TSC customers will need to switch over to 10-digit dialing on June 23, 2008.

There is no additional cost for this functionality but TSC will need to install, configure, test and train customers on the new functionality. We recommend that you budget 7 hours of consulting time for each function you currently use. Trish Holly will contact you next spring to start your implementation project.
